The beautiful Tree Suite
After two and a half months in Playa del Carmen we were ready to move on and see some more of Mexico. We were headed to Valladolid in the Yucatán state. We figured it would be the perfect spot to see Chichen Itzá and other ruins.
It really was the perfect place. Both of us fell in love with Valladolid as I mentioned in my last blog post about Mexico. We were overwhelmed and completely in love with the city.
We only had three nights in Valladolid and were lucky enough to be invited into the lovely Casa Hamaca Guesthouse. We felt so much at home there and were sad to leave after our third night! Let us show you why… (more…)
As you know we’re in Playa del Carmen in Mexico right now. We have rented a space for one month here and we already thinking about staying for one more month – since Playa del Carmen is just a perfect place.
One of the questions we get asked the most, is how we can afford our lifestyle of constant travelling – and in this post we’ll show you just how we’re drastically cutting the number 1 expense while travelling: accommodation.

When we were searching for flights back to Denmark, we found the cheapest ones to be from Lisbon. Even though Lisbon was a 4 hour bus ride away from Burgau, it was still the cheapest option.
We quickly bought the 30€ tickets for Copenhagen (great deal!) and started researching if it could be worth it to travel to Lisbon the day before our flight and therefore stay one night.
We found an amazing deal for a double room on Booking.com – 13€ for the two of us. We quickly reserved the room and started worrying what awaited us… A double room in a European capital for only 13€!? That’s unheard of… (more…)
